N.E.I. Treatment Systems announced today that the Netherlands has issued a Type Approval Certificate for the Company's Venturi Oxygen Stripping™ (VOS) Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) with a Treatment Rated Capacity (TRC) of 6,500 cubic meters per hour (m3/hr). The Netherlands is N.E.I.'s fifth Type Approval Certificate, adding to Certificates previously received from Panama, Malta, Marshall Islands, and Liberia.

N.E.I. Treatment Systems announced today that patents for the Company's VOS™ Ballast Water Treatment System have been granted in Japan and South Korea. Patents for N.E.I.'s unique BWTS technology were previously issued in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and other key jurisdictions in Europe and Asia, representing twenty-two major Maritime Flag States where the Company's intellectual property is now protected.

Busan, South Korea, September 2010 – N.E.I. announces four-ship BWTS order:

N.E.I. licensee Samgong VOS Co., Ltd. of Korea received an initial order from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) for four Venturi Oxygen Stripping™ (VOS™) to be installed on four 318,000 DWT VLCC’s being built for SAMCO Shipbuilding Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. The order represents the largest VOS™ order to date for the Hyundai Group, the world’s largest shipbuilder.

Shanghai, China, July 2010 – N.E.I. delivers the first of a six-ship BWTS order:

N.E.I. delivered in June the first of six VOS™ Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) to Dayang Shipyard in China for installation on the first of six 118,000 DWT bulk carriers being built for Hartmann Reederie of Germany. Washington, DC, May 2010 – APL teams up with N.E.I. for U.S. Coast Guard STEP evaluation of VOS™ BWTS:

APL Ltd. of Singapore teamed up with N.E.I. Treatment Systems and was accepted in May into the U.S. Coast Guard’s Shipboard Technology Evaluation Program (STEP) for evaluation of an N.E.I. N.E.I. received two additional Type Approval Certificates for its VOS™ Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) from the Republic of Malta on January 19, 2010, and from the Republic of Panama on February 11, 2010. This brings the total number of Type Approvals awarded to N.E.I. to four, establishing N.E.I. as the only BWTS company in the industry to hold multiple Type Approvals for its technologies.
